Community Development Bankers Association
Since its inception in 2001, the mission of the Community Development Bankers Association (CDBA) is to facilitate economic revitalization and educate the financial services industry, socially motivated investors and community development banks (CBDs) regarding the credit and financial service needs in disinvested low income communities.
CDBs are Federally insured banks and thrifts that have a primary mission of promoting community development. CDBs are unique in America as they focus the vast majority of their efforts and resources toward stimulating the local economy, creating jobs, and improving the quality of life in low-income neighborhoods.
CDBA accomplishes its mission by providing opportunities for peer learning, delivering technical assistance to members, and educating the public, policy makers, the financial services industry, and other key stakeholders on the unique qualities, accomplishments and needs of CDBs. |
CDARS
Promontory Interfinancial Network has teamed with CDBA to launch the innovative Banking on Communities initiative to help communities that have not been adequately served by traditional financial institutions. Through Banking on Communities, CDBA works with its members and participants in Promontory's CDARS program to channel capital toward underserved areas and populations.
